The Center for Disease Control (CDC) reports that all these indoor air contaminants are the cause of asthmatic reactions and allergies, as well as numerous other chronic health problems.
The CDC also reports that there are three phases of contaminants in the air:

1. Particles
2. Gases
3. Germs

The CDC studies show that 35% of asthma and allergies are caused by the particles, 31% by gases, and 34% by germs.

All three phases of contamination must be dealt with in order to have the most positive effect on our health!

TECHNICAL OPERATION

The "capture and kill" technology that the Perfect Air Purifier uses is a three-step process.

First, as particles pass through the air purifier, they're eclectically charged by the precision-point ionization array, which uses 22,000 volts DC to create dense "clouds" of ions that attach themselves to the particles.

In step 2, a specially designed media cartridge is sandwiched between 11,000 volts DC and electrical ground. As a result, a strong electrical field is created across the filter, which causes the negative and positive charges within each filter fiber to separate and migrate to opposite sides of the fiber (polarization). Particles entering the filter are electrically attracted to the oppositely charged part of a fiber resulting in extremely high collection efficiency.

In step 3, the intense electric field established across the filter results in a charge separation across the captured pathogen's cell membrane and a stretching of the cell wall. The pathogen is also bombarded by negative ions from the ionization section, which further pushes the membrane towards rupture. The net result on captured pathogens is the rupturing of the cell membrane causing inactivation or death.

Now that we have taken care of particles and germs; what about odors? The Perfect Air Purifier is capable of capturing very small particles, down to 0.1 micron. Only odors associated with the presence of particulates will be reduced. If odor control is a concern, Bailey
Brothers recommends installing an activated charcoal filter or installing a ventilator to bring in fresh air and removing the odors or diluting them.

Keep in mind that one of the biggest mistakes homeowners make is thinking that the cheapo filters you buy at the hardware store actually do any filtering of the harmful particles. Take a look at one of these filters and you'll see that you can see through the holes!

Remember that the average size of the particles that hurt you (like mold spores or Dust mite fecal pellets are less than 1 micron (or 1/25,400th of an inch in size).

You CANNOT see anything that small, yet the holes in the filters you're using are big enough to see at least daylight (if not completely) through!

What do you think the odds are that this huge hole big enough to allow you to see through, are small enough to stop and capture and much less kill the 98% of the stuff that's below 1 micron? (I'll give you a hint. NONE! Not a chance!) No, paper filter can even remotely come close to stopping anything below 1 micron, which again, is the size range of 98% of the bad contaminants that are making you sick!
